- Description
As a Colorectal Nurse Specialist you'll work autonomously across University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (3 sites) providing high quality patient care and support / training of HCPs.
- You will work with the Nurse Manager to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised nurse care of patients with a stoma. You'll work autonomously (supported when needed) to coordinate and deliver safe and effective care for patients with a colorectal cancer and other related colorectal disease across the clinical pathway, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Become an expert resource, provide support and guidance for nurse staff involved in the care of patients with colorectal disease and those with stomas. Liaise with community and continuing care teams to provide a seamless service between hospital and home. Attend colorectal outpatient clinics and be present at time of diagnosis for cancer patients.
- Full-time permanent role working Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm with no unsocial hours.

REQUIREMENTS- A qualified, registered nurse with either experience or a keen interest in becoming a specialist Colorectal Nurse. Recently qualified nurses will happily be considered although they will need to have completed preceptorship.
- Able to plan, implement and manage own time effectively; work autonomously and flexibly (following training) in order to meet patient and service needs. Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to positively influence others.
- Based a commutable distance to Leicester e.g. Coventry, Nuneaton, Loughborough, Hinckley, Rugby, Tamworth, Kettering, Corby, etc.
PACKAGE- Salary up to £34,000, depending on experience, daily lunch allowance, 25+8 days holiday rising to 27 days after 5 years' service, pension, private healthcare, life assurance, professional membership fees paid.
