Description

As a Colorectal Nurse Specialist you'll work autonomously across University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (3 sites) providing high quality patient care and support / training of HCPs.
 

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised nurse care of the patient with a stoma or fistula. Work autonomously to provide clinical expertise and deliver safe and effective patient centred services for patients with a colorectal cancer and other related colorectal disease. Coordinate patient care across the clinical pathway in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Act as an expert resource for nurse staff involved in the care of patients with colorectal disease and those with stomas, providing support and guidance. Liaise with the community and continuing care teams providing a seamless service between hospital and home. Attend colorectal outpatient clinics and be present at time of diagnosis for cancer patients.
  • Full-time permanent role working Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm with no unsocial hours.

REQUIREMENTS

  • In order to be considered you must be an NMC registered Nurse with at least two years' post registration experience and expertise in colorectal / stoma / ostomy / patient care. Able to plan, implement and manage own time effectively; work autonomously and flexibly (following training) in order to meet patient and service needs.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to positively influence others.
  • Based a commutable distance to Leicester e.g. Coventry, Nuneaton, Loughborough, Hinckley, Rugby, Tamowrth, Kettering, Corby, etc.


PACKAGE

  • Starting salary of £28,000 - £34,000, depending on experience. 25 + 8 days holiday rising to 27 days after 5 years' service, contributory pension scheme, private healthcare, life assurance.
